Yanawana Tribe that changed my life

Artist Kelly J

Since I am sharing pieces of my testimony, this is a good time to say a prayer for His will be done for the Amazon Rain forest Fires that are raging there. I had the most amazing opportunity to meet a medicine man form the Yawanawa Tribe. I was working for a company at the time, who worked very close with the people of the Amazon. They taught how to live with so much respect, for the life that resides there, for the people, the animals, the plant life, the waters and Tree's and everything that was there. We were shown how to make medicine that would heal because of the respect for the life of the plants. Nothing is ever taken without permission, nothing is ever used unless you know certain aspects about it. Nothing was wasted or thrown away.

This is me with 2 of the amazing men I met who lived in the Amazon. The owner of the company I worked for told us how long it took to get to their very remote village. A small plane down into a mowed out airstrip, then onto a canoe traveling for days, then on foot to the village. It was not easy to find them. But, I am ever so grateful for the opportunity to be there for such a time as this. It changed my whole perspective of life. I am beyond thankful for the time I got to spend with them.
